UK MACRO MOTHS

A checklist of all the macro-moths illustrated on this site is given here

I used a Canon EOS 7D, then 5D MkIV until 2024; after that all pictures were taken with a Canon R6 MkII with a RF 100mm f2.8 L Macro IS USM lens.

If no specific location is given beneath the picture, then the moth was captured in an MV trap in my garden in Disley, Cheshire. Other locations are given beneath specific pictures. Almost all images are of moths on the UK list, though some of the immigrant species were captured and photographed outside the UK. After photographing, all moths were released into dense herbeage.
